Saturday Classes

Next class will be Saturday, May 15th, 2010. We're back to the regular routine and will be working on small scenes. We'll be learning how to work effectively with a scene partner and working some more on passing focus.

Quonta One Act Festival

The Sault Theatre Workshop will be hosting the QUONTA One Act Festival again this year. There will be three or more one act plays on the Friday and Saturday nights with adjudications and social each evening following the performances. Workshops will be given by Richard Howard on Saturday and Sunday on the previous night's performances.

Stage 1 will be entering a show this year directed by Brad Jones. If you would like to be involved with the show, contact Brad or Kirsty. This workshop is an amazing weekend and you'll learn a lot by participating. If you don't want to participate but you would like to see the shows, you'll have to pay for your tickets as this is the one event that Stage 1 cannot see for free. Prices are listed below.

June 18, 19, and 20, 2010
Studio Theatre
Friday Night $15
Saturday Night $15
Participant's Pass (Both nights and workshops) $20

Summer Show

The summer show is coming up fast! The plan right now is to present a group of one act plays written by Stage 1 members. Joe has written the first draft of "Boris and Yakov" and Kirsty and Jen both have plays in the works. Kassandra and some others are working on a musical. If you're writing a play that you'd like to present, bring it to class and let us read it! I'll also be posting the plays as they are written so that you can read them online if you miss them in class.

To compliment our summer show, I'd like to present some of the other artistic talents of Stage 1 members. We're hoping to hang original artwork on the walls of the theatre and Lizzie may be bringing some of her jewellery to showcase (remember the amazing necklaces that she made for "Cinderella"?). If you've got a talent that you'd like to share, talk to Kirsty and we'll incorporate it into the productions!
